review 1: This book is haunting. Be warned-there are a few graphic scenes, but they expose the terrible world of trafficking. I ache for the characters, and for the fact that these things are happening right now. This book exposes the horrible reality of sex slavery and will not leave you the same. The story wraps up abruptly and left me wanting more information about the characters, but overall the story was thorough and well written.
review 2: This novel is the story of Gi and her friend, Il-sun. They are both girls who met in an orphanage in North Korea. It is the story of what happens to them in their lives. It spans their childhood all the way into adulthood. Their story goes from North Korea, to South Korea, to the city of Seattle, Washington. They are sold not onc
... moree, but twice into the sex trade. It is a thought provoking book that will have you remembering it long after you are done reading it. less
