review 1: Hannah Goodman's life is a bit of a mess. She's decided to leave Manhattan and spend her summer in the Hamptons with her grandmother to avoid dealing with a sticky situation with her boyfriend. Hannah loves her grandmother dearly and enjoys a much closer relationship with her many times married (and widowed) grandmother than with her own mother, who is a world travelling photojournalist with whom she did not have a conventional or warm relationship as a child. When a series of unexpected events take place, Hannah finds herself dealing with a myriad of conflicting emotions. Will she finally be able to find the recipe for a happy life?
review 2: What a breath of fresh air. You are transformed into a lifestyle of parties that only the rich and famous can dream
... more of. Hannah's life has never been normal, her mother is an award winning photographer traveling the world. She was never close to her mother, but her grandmother was always there for her. To Hannah she saw her grandmother as more of a mother then her mom. Some crazy things happen to Hannah and she decides to take the summer off and spend it with her grandmother at her house in Southampton. Her grandmother has her own recipe for a happy life which she is trying to explain to her granddaughter. Hannah is trying to take in all of her gran's advise and tries to change her life.In the middle of all of this life throws them some curve balls which forces the family to come together as a whole and stand strong. As a family they fight to cover come some issues, only to come out on the other side stronger. This story touches your heart in so many ways. It teaches you to be strong no matter what happens to you in life. Your family is your rock and you should always stand by them no matter what. I would recommend this book to people looking to read a fun book with a real story love and support.Just something unrelated. Thank you to Goodreads I received an advance copy of this novel. It took me a while to read it, but the book was since released. They changed the cover of the book. Just as an observation I liked the other cover better, which was a picture of the beach and part of an house. It just looked like a lot of fun. less

Easy pool/beach read. Predictable but not a waste of time.
