review 1: Not going to write a big review for this book. Story is average at best and the artwork leaves much to be desired if im honest. The story itself is a rehash of many a story like it before. Famous football player gets knee smashed in for not taking bribes from mafia but everyone doesnt believe him. Stuck in dead end job until he meets the bosses daughter who is a femme fatale. Murders and double crossings galore from then on and obvious twist at the end! Nothing special only worth a read if your on a plane going somewhere and your bored!
review 2: I had no idea that Vertigo had produced a series of small B&W graphic novels. It's under the Vertigo Crime imprint, btw, all of them small hardcover books. I found this one in a used book store and thought I'd give it
... morea chance as I seem to be on a roll with the crime stuff. The story was good. Nothing great, but not bad. The art work was....eh. Can't say I'm a fan of the artist. It's just too....angular for my tastes. Rich girl that daddy wants to keep off the headlines of the newspaper as she parties and gets into trouble too often. Hires a guy to keep an eye on here and he falls for her. Murders happen, sorry, no spoilers here. It's a quick read as I read it at a coffee shop. less

Another solid noir tale from Azzarello, that followed pretty familiar ground but was entertaining.
