review 1: This was a good introduction to the new avengers. It gave the reader information about each member of the team without drawing away from the plot or making the writing seem dull, it kept the story going at a fast pace. The end made me want to read the next volume to see where the story was going. I really like the characters on this team and hope to read a lot more about them. I really liked the artwork for this volume and liked the variants in the back about each member.
review 2: The Heroic Age begins. The new avengers have a mystical enemy to fight that is intent on destroying New York and Dr Strange. Its tricky to fight mystical energy when you're not a magician. Meanwhile the magicians are arguing amongst themselves. This is a decent plot, but it is the en... moreding that makes it 4 stars. I think the impact this storyline will have long term will be huge. A very good read, and have your hankies ready. less
