review 1: A fantastically creepy and atmospheric story which I liked even more than 'The Midnight Palace'.'The Prince of Mist' is set in a small coastal town in the summer of 1943. 13 year old Max and his older sister Alicia are told by their watchmaker father that he's moving their family to a small town on the coast where he will set up his own watchmaker's business and get his family away from the city which is a dangerous place to be due to the war. On arriving in the town, Max discovers several strange things about it and the family's new home. The house was once occupied by a wealthy family who lost their only son in mysterious and tragic circumstances. In the grounds of the house is a sinister walled garden of statues which seem to move of their own accord. Max's father disco... morevers some old film reels which hint at the house's dark and mysterious past. Then Max learns about a ghostly and malevolent entity known as the Prince of Mist who emerges from the mist to settle old debts and then vanishes again. Along with Alicia and new friend Roland, Max must uncover the truth of what happened to the son of the previous inhabitants of the house and just who the Prince of Mist is and what he wants....Great stuff. Refreshingly, Alicia has a lot more of a role than the girl characters in 'Midnight Palace' did, and is much, much more likeable than the main female character in 'Midnight Palace', Sheere, who I really didn't like. As with 'Midnight Palace', 'Prince of Mist' was genuinely scary in places.
review 2: El Príncipe de la Niebla me ha parecido un libro agradable y ameno. Me ha gustado bastante la temática de la obra. Los misterios que engloba la trama y que no se ven resueltos hasta el desenlace me han enganchado y producido una sensación de entretenimiento. Algunas partes me han causado un poco de miedo, como en el caso de la escena en la que Irina escucha voces en el armario de su habitación e intenta huir de la estancia, pero se ve encerrada y a continuación, dentro del mueble, observa a su gato y la sonrisa y los ojos de Caín; pero esta sensación no es un punto negativo sobre el libro, sino al contrario, me ha agradado que la historia me hiciese sentir algo de pavor, ya que a la vez ha hecho que la lectura me resultase más interesante. En definitiva, ha sido un libro que me ha gustado y que sin duda recomendaría. less

Este libro me ha gustado bastante ya que combina distintos géneros como la intriga y el suspense, a parte de tener algunas escenas de "miedo" (que te producen un ligero escalofrío pero no te impiden seguir leyendo sino más bien lo contrario.La historia me ha gustado debido que su final me ha parecido original e inesperado.Como novela juvenil que es, se la recomendaría a la gente de estas edades aunque considero que un adulto también podría entretenerse leyéndola.
