review 1: This was interesting. I liked the way the story shifted between character POVs and between the past and present. I sometimes had a hard time reconciling the past version of characters with their present ones (Eric, especially) but I still found it to be an effective format. I liked the medical details, for the most part, but thought the chimera angle was a needless--and not too plausible--distraction. Overall, though, an intriguing read.
review 2: This is the third Cassella book that I've read. Again medicine and science feed into the story, but mystery is also included. After a Jane Doe is brought to a hospital in Washington, Charlotte the primary doctor must not only try to keep her alive, but also try to find out who she is. The storyline seems a bit mani
... morepulated in order to tie all the loose ends together. Therefore, I'd say that this book was not my favorite - Oxygen, Cassella's first book is far more exciting. Not to say this is a weak story, just not as compelling a read as her others. Cassella's writing and research shows much time and effort, so if you like medical drama this is a good book to entertain. less

First few pages were great. Then it turned into a Robin Cook novel sans science fiction. Skip it.
