review 1: These books are the kind that stay with you. I am truly addicted to the mortal instruments. At first when a friend told me about these books i thought they sounded stupid and that it was gonna be this twilight-ish thing.(and i mean with the two lovers basically being addicted to each other.) It is not that at all. I fell in love with Jace instantly and i love all the characters so much. When you start reading these series, you wont be able to stop, you need to know the end. I would give details but i know that i hate it when i read a review and there are spoilers in it so i wont do that, all i can say is that if you haven't read it yet, it is a must!
review 2: Cheesy, but fun set of stories set around Clary, a girl who doesn't know about her heritage and is soo... moren to find out. I liked the mysterious parental element in this read, however, if my fifteen year old daughter ever thought to do some of the thing that Clary gets into. Grrrr. If her mother was so protective of her, what was this child doing out , clubbing at the beginning if the story. Also, boys in the bedroom? A recipe for disaster. It's this disconnect that makes me wonder about the motives of Clary's mother. The rest of the book is filled with vibrant, real, flesh and blood characters. Still it breaks down to a girl skimping after a boy she can't and then can have. Better than Twilight. less
