Edie Spence
review 1: Edie Spence is a nurse who works in a county hospital on a secret floor where her patients are not of the normal kind. Vampires, werewolves, zombies are a few of the people that come in and out of her floors care. There are all kinds of things that happens to poor Edie. Vampire attacks, saving a vampire child, dragon attacks, a junkie brother, a boyfriend who isn't what ANYONE would normally go for, but in a weirdly gross way I find him attractive! And with all the things Edie Spence goes through you actually feel sorry for her. Its like one bad thing after another. The poor woman can't get a break. The book itself wasn't bad. It had a little bit of everything. Action, humor, a little bit of romance and of course all kinds of paranormal creatures. BUT for some reason it w... moreas missing SOMETHING that would have made it a really good book rather than an okay book. If you need a filler book to read while you are deciding whats the next book on your list then try this one. I wouldn't highly recommend it but I wouldn't say don't try it either. You might enjoy it a little more than I did.
review 2: 2.5 stars. It took a bit for me to really get interested in this book. I didn't get into it til over half way through and then I was reading partly just to finish it. It is a light read. I was curious about some characters, but plot lines popped up late and were brief and I didn't have the time to really get into them. In the beginning, there was a lot of nurse jargon which threw me because I wasn't familiar with it. I noticed it less in the second half of the book and it flowed easier for me. Overall, I liked this book. I'm unsure whether I'll pick up the sequels any time soon, or at all. less

Edie is a nightshift nurse at County hospital. But she's not your normal nurse. She works on a hidden floor, tending to hidden creatures. When one of her patients, a Daylighter, dies due to something she did incorrectly, guilt leads her to follow his last request. Which leads her deeper into the hidden world than she should ever go.I really enjoyed this book. It's different enough to make the world entertaining, and has enough action in it to keep you reading to the end.

I was torn between really liking this and deciding if I wanted to finish it. The characters are good as is the story, I think it is the writing style Ihad problems with. It was a little heavy, I found I couldn't breeze through the reading. Everytime I stopped reading, I had to decide if I was going back to it but once I started reading I enjoyed it. I will try the 2nd book in the series & if I find it is hard to get into I will give it up for now.
