review 1: I've had this book for quite sometime now and saw the notification for the 4th in the series that came out last November. I love Catherine Bybee in her other series, the Weekday Brides series so I'm guessing she will use the same formula and that half of the characters in this first offering will have his/her own story too.Though Jack is too good to be true, the Prince Charming in pauper clothes is a delight to be discovered. And who wouldn't like to be the end of a rags to riches deal? Everyone deserves a happy ending, especially hardworking moms like Jessie who'd do anything for her child. An easy read chick lit, predictable but still a page turner. Book 2 soon!
review 2: On the whole, I liked it. Good character development for her, somewhat so for him and... more you get a feel for how difficult her life has been. Maybe I need to believe more in that elusive "walks into the room and click" feeling that makes a guy lose his rationality to pursue a total stranger... If you don't do those kinds of stories, you won't like this one. If you can get past that, the author does a great job of developing their friendship so that when they get to the will you part, you're in. less
