review 1: I really loved this book. I read it in one day although I was making homemade soup and homemade rolls, both time consuming dishes, I had to keep sneaking away for one more chapter. At first I wasn't even sure if I was going to like Jessie. Not that the author portrayed her as money grubbing, but still. I was worried about her concern for income. Catherine Bybee wrote her in such a way that instead of thing she was a witch, I ended up really seeing her point. And I loved that Jack was so patient with the whole situation.Of course, this isn't a book that you are wondering if there will be a fallout. You know going in that they'll have their grand parting, and you even know why. Again, I loved how the author handled things. There was an unexpected bonus of Monica and ... moreKatie banding together. His dad wasn't what I expected either, I was pleasantly surprised. This book really gave me the warm-fuzzies and I love that. I never really disliked any of the main characters, which can often happen once the "bad" thing comes out in these books. Jessie even had better reasons than "he's not rich" when she hurt Jack about halfway through the book. This is another new to me author I am excited to read more from.
review 2: This was a great story, I really enjoyed it. The story line, plot and concept were all great. The Hero, Jack was a rich sexy cowboy in his stetson hat! The Heroine, Jessie was strong and witty, not whimpering and whiny, which is always a plus to me. They had great chemistry and some very nicely written sex scenes. There was a lot of dialogue throughout the book, ( I like lots of dialogue) and it was well written, easy to follow. It all flowed very nicely.I listened via audible as I read along. As for the narrator, she is fine. I do wish she would practice deepening her voice for the male characters. And work on not making some of the women sound so juvenile. She does try though, and is not the worst I have listened too. less
