The Weekday Brides
review 1: Single by Saturday is by Catherine Bybee. This is book four in the Weekday Brides’s series. It is an excellent romance with a lot of humor in it. Michael Wolfe and Karen Jones have a temporary marriage to appease his fans and to hide a secret. Michael and Karen have become best friends in the year they have been married. He tries to bury her with expensive gifts which she refuses. Michael is a famous and popular actor who cannot afford to have his image tarnished. Karen works with disadvantaged kids who are on the verge of getting into drugs, gangs, or other undesirable things. Their marriage works out well with him being gone for months at a time on location and her spending her time with her kids. They have taken time out to travel which Karen would never have ... morebeen able to afford by herself. They had been matched by Alliance, a romance matching company for which Karen had worked. The time for their divorce is coming up; but they are forced into a trip to Michael’s home town to visit his estranged family. His brother, Zach , had popped in to visit and make sure they decided to come. After a rocky start, the visit is a good change for Michael. He is reunited with his family and his friends from high school. He rides on a float in a parade and is given a sign for the town stating it is his birthplace. Michael would rather be with his friends and family than get those honors. At least the paparazzi are leaving them alone. For Karen, it is a rocky visit. She has to continue to lie about her marriage to Michael’s family who she comes to care for deeply. His sisters, Hannah and Judy, manage to distract the family questions and attention back to Michael. Can Michael still keep his secret? Will Karen be able to keep the family from finding out their secret? Zach is Michael’s older brother and has his own building company. He has handled all the family dramas for several years. What he can’t handle is his attraction to Michael’s wife. Can he keep his distance from Karen?
review 2: Read this book awhile back and didn't know about leaving reviews. I have just read it again and can say it is still one of my favorite books. Of course all of Catherine Bybee's books are some of my favorites. I loved Karen's personality, she is sassy and funny! Zach is handsome and honorable which equals sexy! I loved how their story develops and how they both had to fight their attraction for each other. Your heart goes out to them and you are cheering for them through the whole book. Loved all the secondary characters and how you read about the characters from the previous books. I'm sure I will re-read this again! less
