review 1: Wenn man sich dieses Cover anschaut, denkt man dies sei eine sehr leichte Frauenliteratur, mit witzigen Dialogen und einer Liebesgeschichte. Aber wer dieses Buch liest oder schon gelesen hat, weiß dies trifft es nicht wirklich und leider ist das Cover nicht passend zum Inhalt. Denn hier ist nicht Friedefreudeeierkuchen, nein, es geht hier um eine Geschichte, die sehr real wirkt und nur sehr selten man zum lachen anregt. Es passieren hier doch so einige Dinge, wo ich überrascht und entsetzt war, welche genau, dafür müsst ihr das Buch lesen. Denn obwohl ich einen Chic-lit erwartet habe und nicht bekommen habe, hat mich das Buch sehr berührt, mich mitgenommen und entdecken lassen. Und das fand ich großartig.Das mit dem Cover bezieht sich auf die deutsche Aus... moregabe.
review 2: I don't know why people complain about the veterinary aspects of the book because this was what drew me to it as I don't normally read "chick lit" books. (And if you want shallow, read some of the synopses in the back about rich, perfect women, etc leading their boring lives in excess of wealth and then you'll know what shallow is...). The only problem with the book I had was the present tense way in which it is written - present tense writing doesn't really work because it makes writing seem sloppy and that is why I have given it four stars instead of five. I enjoyed the book and it is a nice read if you want something quick and different to what you normally read. less
