review 1: This is a delightful story. It really starts with someone hitting rock bottom, ruining her career and another's life. Many horrid things happen to the lead character, testing her, making her see things in a different way. I love the idea that everyone has a story to tell, even if they don't think so. Everyone has their own issues, and lives apart from what we may think of them. I became very involved in this book, didn't want to put it down. I was drawn to each character as their stories unfolded. I love how our reporter learned about each oerson, and how the final article developed. Very well written. I'm hoping to read more from this author! I won this book in a goodreads giveaway. I was not paid for my review and all opinions are my own.
review 2:... more Not the best one of Ahern's works, I must sadly admit. Follows the typical Ahern rules of love and self discovery. The story line, although very entertaining, is unsurprisingly predictable and there is no edge to it. An average novel, with some interesting characters. It is nice to see the main character develop, although she started off as an unlikely heroine and not Cecelia's best protagonist. I must say, however, that the story was a very interesting concept and it was a nice and easy read. Very average novel. If you haven't read any Ahern before, then I certainly would not suggest that you start off with this one. If you aren't really into romantic books, then there is absolutely no need for you to read this. less
