review 1: Kontra's band of misfit shifters is growing as members gain mates. So far only two have left the biker gang for permanent homes - this gang is going to be one massive field of bikers rolling down the back roads of the country.Playboy Vail finally finds his mate, and doesn't know what to do. He can't have a mate due to a curse placed on his family, yet Draven is real and he refuses to be put aside.Draven, half warlock half vampire, has no choice but to pursue Vail. Shifters may be able to work through the mating bond and give up their destined mate, vampires can't. All they need for their happily ever after is to break the curse.Vail must learn about relationships, Draven must learn to accept his new family, and the gang moves on to the next mate. Who's it going t... moreo be?
review 2: I couldn't get my money out fast enough as my father in law likes to say when I saw that Vail's story had been released. I have been so eager to discover what his big hangup was about not wanting to find his mate. And let me tell you, it was a real lulu of a reason. I won't spoil it for the rest of you though. Discovering that the mysterious Draven was Vail's mate only made this latest series installment even more intriguing to me.I've said it before, but it bears repeating. I just love these quick little paranormal stories in this series and others by this author. They pack a punch of action while getting to the point of the romance quickly. They have plots that solve without a lot of angst and they generally solve quickly without bleeding over into another book. The characters endear themselves to me quickly and I love seeing them find their fate mates. There is also the fun of renewing my acquaintance with characters I have met in previous books. At this point, I should remind everyone that this series really should be read in order and for optimal enjoyment it should be combined with the Wolves of Stone Ridge series reading both together in chronological release order. This one carries plot thread that was begun in Kontra's book, 'Silver Tipped Justice' and continued in Payson's book, 'In the Eyes of Crazy'.I recommend this series to those who enjoy a lighter m/m paranormal romance. less
