review 1: This is a very good series. Pride & Passion is number two of three. I read three first, then one, now this. What I have liked about all three, and this is my first time reading Charlotte Featherstone, is the incredible depth of emotional passion of the heroes. Like the other two stories the hero, Adrian the Duke of Sussex, is in love. He knows it and is tortured by it. There is a very satisfying twist to the story which I won't reveal but is breathtaking in its satisfaction. Because I have read the final story first, I know the identity of the bad guy. This did not detract from this story but enabled me to notice the hints that are given. I have given five stars because of the well written, intense passion of Adrian. I could feel his pain.

... morey's obsession with her 'love' Thomas takes her to spiritualists trying to connect to her dead love who she though burned to death in his studio. Lord Sussex, who loved Lucy, wants to prove that her 'love' Thomas was really a murderer and an evil man. Through out the book the romance builds slowly and I was absolutely stunned by Lord Sussex' confession at the end! The mystery and action in this book rival the first in the series and are FANTASTIC! A must read! less
