review 1: 3\5I was so excited when I read the reviews and the preview of this book but after finishing reading it ,I can say I am kind of slightly disappointed . The events were not this interesting and the novel was stretched more than necessary. I just wish there were more shocking events or even more interaction between Zan and his girl , I mean it took us reading many many pages just to see them interacting more with each other. I must admit this made me a bit bored. What I loved about this novel is that the author gave us a drink of what is going on inside the main characters' head. So I was able to connect with them all. All in all this was not one of the novels I read but it is for sure not the worst.
review 2: I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. SO. FREAKIN. MUCH. I read this
... morebook in like a day because I was so wrapped up in the story. In the misery, conflict, love, forbidden love, despair, misery and desire. The basic plot of the story rests in the events of an accident and everyone involved. One night, a drunk teenage boy named Zack was about to drive home with an equally drunk girl named Lexie but then Zack's brother, Zan, offers to drive. But Lottie, or Charlotte, tries her best to convince her best friend to not go but she goes anyway. A major accident occurs, and Lottie is left with permanent brain damage. Charlotte continues to blame herself, Zan is sent to a juvenille detention center and Zack continues to be the little dick he is. (I don't apologize for my language if you read the book then you will understand completely). Along the way you find out the truth about the accident that changes everything about the way Lottie views everything and everyone. What I love most about this book is that it's not a typical romance. There is baggage, damage and scars left from the past that both people have. It's a relationship built upon trust, communication and accepting all faults. I love that is shows more than one type of relationship, such a brother sister love and friendship. Lottie and her twin brother, Will, have a special type of bond that they have connection. Lottie and her special group of friends take Zack's girlfriend, Katie, into their group and help her through his physical abuse. Chelsea M. Cameron is able to go through topics like drugs, alochol, sex, partner abuse and more with ease. She handles them full on but is able to handle them with grace. The characters you fall in love with, and the minor characters become major in the next two books with their own romance stories. Would recommend to older audiences because this is a new adult book so there is sex and more mature topics covered. less
