review 1: A fast paced book, but it was very, very poorly written. Quotation marks are all over the place and/or missing. Sentences/paragraphs literally jumped all over the place – for example, one minute the characters are in one location, the next sentence it sounds like they are really somewhere else, but in the following sentence, they were back where they originally were. Characters thought patterns switch mid-thought – reading it, you think they are talking/thinking about one thing, which switches to something completely different. So very, very jumpy. Very inconsistent. Very poorly written.
review 2: One word: RepetitiveThe jury was out in the first book, I didn't know if I liked the air flipper/brand name dropping/shallow heroine, but the plot and twists were... more much better in the second book, however this one lack editing. There's one scene repeating after another; in one meeting of night trackers Nyx and her "boss" made eye contact, to get a point across, with each tracker at least five times; Nyx spent three quarters of the book enveloped in glamour and spying on the vampires repeating and repeating the same, how she has to wrap her glamour tight around herself each time: a vampire pass by/she has a strong emotion/Volod is in the room, and the fact that Volod sense her every single time didn't deter our leading lady from doing it again or change tactics, nooooo, she just wrap it tighter, not that it made any good, AGAIN! Besides the plot was predictable, not much action, the "love" parts were rush and thrust down our throats.Not a good addition to the series, it has potential but need a lot of work. less
