review 1: *ARC Provided for an Honest Review*I love Cate Kennedy’s character. As a very successful, very in-demand badass lawyer she has made a name for herself professionally. She has such strength and determination when it comes to her work and doing what she does best, winning. And yet, there is a whole other side to Cate, a side that wants nothing more than to live a very private, very quiet lifestyle. That is until she sets foot in Club Volare and meets her newest client, Soren Andderson. Soren, a member of the amazing Savage Heart rock group, and Declan’s closest friend, is HOT. I mean really HOT. He is also a Dom, and a very good one at that. He knows and understands everything there is to know about D/s relationships and he wants nothing more than to truly please his sub... more and gain her absolute trust. As Soren and Cate’s relationship grows and deepens, we get to see another side of Soren, a “sweet” side and it is amazing. We also get to watch as Cate slowly comes out of her shell, and gains confidence in the person she truly wants to be. Together these two just make you smile. The relationship between Cate and Soren has its ups and downs as they both learn to navigate along their journeys of self-discovery. I found myself cheering them on, rooting for them to work out their issues and just hoping for the HEA they so greatly deserved. I was not misled. That is exactly what they got and how they got there was so much fun to read about. There is some angst in this book but nothing that had me wanting to throw my Kindle, which I was very pleased about, as I really didn’t feel a lot of drama was needed. The obstacles they encountered were bearable, they were realistic and they were handled perfectly. There is no drama for the sake of drama and for me that is a sign of a well written book. In addition, Savage Hearts gives us a glimpse into the lives of Declan and Molly now that they are planning a wedding. They are still an adorable couple so much in love and they are a lot of fun. Then there is the complicated, slightly frustrating relationship between Ford and Adra. Again, they are not the main focus of the story, but when they are together in a scene you just want them to work out all their issues. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for Chloe Cox to release their story, which is going to be equally amazing I have no doubt. I highly recommend Savage Hearts, although I do recommend reading Savage Rhythm first so that you have a better overall understanding of the characters. Thank you Chloe Cox for another wonderful journey to Club Volare!
review 2: I have been not so patiently waiting for Soren’s story. As soon as I was able to download this book I had to drop everything and start reading it. I love a good story with BDSM and lots of hot sex tossed in but this book was not all about the BDSM and sex and that is ok with me because there was so much emotion between Cate and Soren that you did not miss the other stuff. (Not that it lacked hot sex or BDSM, because the BDSM scenes were hot as all get out.)The way that Soren is such a giving person comes through to you and makes you just want to wrap him up and take him home with you to snuggle up with and make you feel secure about everything. When it comes to Cate you can feel with each passing moment Cate becoming more sure of herself until in the end you just want to jump for joy about how she feels about herself. The way that the love shines through this story is so great that when you are finished with it you just feel lighter in your heart and there is a new bounce in your step because of the good feelings you get from this book. I will be sure to tell all my friends that they should not miss out on reading this story. I know it will be on my Nook so that when I need a pick me up I can open and start reading it again.I can’t wait for Ford and Adra’s story in early 2014 because they deserve to work things out but we will also get to see how things are doing with Cate and Soren too.Thank you Chloe Cox for continuing to write these great stories with characters that you can fall in love with and that you can get a break from your real life and find a place where true love lives along with how people can go into life and learn to just be themselves without others always judging them. less
