review 1: This is the fifth book in the series. In this book Jack wakes up without any memory of what happened in the last couple of days.Determined to find his stolen belongings he encounters Ronin (a samurai without master) and Hana a "thief". This trio have one thing in common, they are outcasts and are on their to find the stolen goods.This story is fun to read. Although reading through the book I could not help but find references to some movies from the latest years. The riddling monk reminds me of Golem whereas the drunken samurai resembles Jacky Chan's character "Lu Yan" from the forbidden kingdom using drunken fist as his primal fighting strategy.The story is very tense and the battles are well described making the reader wanting to devour the book in one bite :).I loved it... more and to my opinion the best in it's series so far. I can't wait to start the next.
review 2: Jack finds himself in a little barn and he can't remember how he got there and what happened to him. He can't find any of his belongings including his fathers precious rutter. Jack makes two new friends that will help him find his belongings but can he really trust a drunk man and a thief? Will they actually help him or turn him in to the emperor? But how will Jack find his belongings if he can't remember how he lost them in the first place?I picked up this book because I have read all the one before this and really like the series.I finished this book because I really like knowing how Jack gets out of these situations.I recommend this book to Tracy because I know she like this series and that she wants to read this book next. less
