review 1: Rated this book 5 stars because it was truly amazing and sad to see people dying... There were sacrifices to be made between people, especially the loved ones and the true friends... I really loved the fact that friends took sacrifices because of the war that was happening throughout the book. Even though friends didn't want to die (obviously), there was no way that no one could ever live during the war if there were any sacrifices to be done... I felt so sad for people who had died in the book and for Jack (the main character) and other students' friends who had sadly lost their lives...
review 2: This book is great. It is the 4th book in the series so don't read this review unless you want to spoil the first three books. It is about a British boy named Jack w... moreho has been stranded in Japan for three years. He trains to be a samurai, but after three years of training he must fight in a brutal civil war. Jack's side loses the war and Jack escapes Osaka (where the battle was fought) and is on his way to Nagasaki. I really like this book because it is a realistic fiction about feudal Japan. I also love action books. My favorite characters are Jack and Kiyoshi because they are both samurai and ninja. less
