review 1: The 7th book of this amazing series( Young Samurai), amazed me yet again. The twists and the turns of the story kept me glued on the book from start to end. The story was very original and very different from all the other stories. Yet again I learnt more about the 1600s in Japan. This book was mainly centered around pirates unlike the other novels. The action scenes were very detailed and quite exciting. The characters were described marvellously, it was incredibly easy to picture the ruthless pirates and to picture the helpless young boy who risked his life to help the protaginist; Jack and his friends to escape the ship. Since Chris Bradford plans this to be the second-last book of the series, a few very surprising secrets were revealed. However, it is a necessity to re... moread the previous stories before you can start this book. 6 novels may sound a lot but after you start reading, you will never regret the decision." 7 times down, 8 times up"
review 2: another action-packed, fast paced and pretty much AWESOME read by chris bradford. jack fletcher is once again hurled into a world where danger is normal and fighting is imminent. i loved the storyline, though i have a feeling jacks life is probably gonna be told in taverns and sang in years to come because seriously his life is so unreal and his skills just...is it possible for anyone to be so good at that many things in their life? anyway, loved the storyline, loved the characters who were perfect (like seriously, crazy perfect, as in never makes a bad decision etc) and wise beyond their years. i dunno, maybe its a japanese thing. and i also dunno whether having crazy perfect characters and a kinda unrealistic storyline is a good thing either. then again some books are written to purposely transport the reader to unrealistic places and give them hope and fuel for dreams so...now you know why i gave the book 4 stars.anyway, so if you enjoyed the previous books before this series, you'll LOVE this one. its pretty much the same thing, except this time, jack is fighting alongside and against pirate ninjas! you'll understand once you've red it.p.s. i don't suppose you (chris bradford) could write in a situation in your last book where jack is mortally injured and faces a very real possibility of dying? cos its just that his never faced a situation like that yet and hey call me a sadist or whatever but i love those scenes. god i think there's something wrong with me.oh well.so once again, if you've enjoyed the other books which have formed the samurai series, you will absolutely LOVE this book. cheers. less
