review 1: If you're ever after a book that relentlessly bombards you with twist after twist, this is it. The first part of the book, Day One, leaves you wondering often just where this story is going. Don't worry, this is quite deliberate. Day Two starts to piece a few things together but it is not unril Day Three that this novel suddenly comes alive in a way I have seldom read before. Truly, this book is worth sticking with. You think you have it worked out and then you're hit with another twist that you really should see coming but will not.The ending is not without sadness and regret but is completely satisfying. The main character grows and grows and shows new sides to her personality that we have not seen before.An excellent addition to this series and I hope there will b... moree many more.
review 2: I'm saying this more and more these days, but this isn't my regular type of read. It's a procedural crime thriller about soem deaths being caused by people who are supposed to be dead. As I say, it's not my usual read, but the story kept me hooked from beginning to end.My only slight downside was that I found it a little predictable, but I get that a lot and it shouldn't put you off. The story is well constructed and the pace builds nicely to a satisfying conclusion. The investigation itself has suitable twists and turns to keep you guessing. I would have expected a bit more fallout from the end, but that's no big thing.The writing itself is good and the author knows how to write a good action scene. I also enjoyed some of the more technical details, nicely integrated and not confusing. If you enjoy crime novels then this is well worth a look. less
