review 1: I went into this anthology knowing very little about it except that 4 of my favorite authors were listed as contributors on the cover (Max Brooks, Joe Hill, Kelley Armstrong, and John Connolly). I've read very few anthologies with multiple authors that I thought were very good. I'm glad to report that I found this to be an exception to previous experience. Several of the stories were 5 stars: What Maisie Knew by David Liss, Family Business by Jonathan Maberry, Life Sentence by Kelley Armstrong, In the Dust by Tim Lebon, and Twittering from the Circus of the Dead by Joe Hill. The rest were hit or miss. Recommended reading for all zombie fans.
review 2: There is an incredibly wide range of short stories in this book, and I can say that there wasn't a single one I
... more outright disliked, or felt was sub-par. Some were read with more relish or enjoyment than others, and a couple gripped onto the subject matter with gore flecked fingernails that slowly peeled away, but I was fairly impressed at the sheer range of subject matter that still remained on theme. I enjoyed this collection very much, and discovered a side to an already favorite author I hadn't really thought of before. less

The anti-war ones have stayed with me the most. "Family Business" was way too sentimental.
