review 1: Well, this is the Moore that started it all for me. And, although it was completely different from all the rest, it was good enough to get me to go for the whole catalog.If you're looking for Moore's comedic genius, you won't find it here. But, you will find genius. The impressionists are all on offer, and the muse is a beautiful enigma.Once you figure out the plot, the mystery is compelling.
review 2: My first novel by Christopher Moore...and probably my last. A "comedy d'art?" I laughed once--the joke about London--but the word "bonking" just isn't that funny to me.
