review 1: This is a terrible book. It's full of cliches, the dialog is stilted, and there is a lot of telling and very little showing. The plot had promise, but that is ruined by the nature of the reveals. They are accomplished by narrator explanation rather than a slow unwinding in which the reader makes the critical connections. I picked it up in the airport, desperate for an engaging thriller, and was very disappointed. The author even commits the error of misusing "nonplussed" when he meant to convey its opposite.
review 2: This book is a very quick read with short chapters and page-turning chapter endings. The plot has enough investment and Wall Street detail to be believable, but not so much terminology that the story gets bogged down. There is a love story in the ... moremix that adds a little zing. I was just in the mood for this book when I picked it up at the library's new book section. It will make a great summer read at the beach! less
