Joe Pickett
review 1: Not as good as Breaking Point, the book that preceded this one, but Box still provides some memorable moments. Implausibilities like the return of Missy, the evil mother-in-law, somewhat mar the story, however, Joe Pickett’s erroneous conclusion about the college student that his daughter has an “intimation” about, is certainly well-taken in an era of shoot first, investigate later. Box leaves several threads dangling for the next book to tackle.
review 2: What can I say--between Longmire and Joe Picket, I love good mysteries set in Wyoming. The two characters--Longmire and Picket--are very different. And so are their sidekicks. ... moreries and have lost it's charm. But that isn't the case. We still get the great Picket--father, game warden, loyal husband and itinerant wrecker of government vehicles. But we get it all with a twist on the Nate Romanowski character that evolves the series in an unexpected way. Well done, Mr. Box. less

First time I have read a book in this series. I like it and will look for the older books to read.
