review 1: Another good contemporary romance read. I think I liked this book better than the first one in the series; it was just as well-written but I think I found it more fun and entertaining than the first one simply because of Amy's character. Amy turns out to be quite the stubborn hothead and as I read about her desperate attempts to save her childhood home and all the memories stored in the walls of the treasured family pub, I couldn't help but love her character and admire her stubborn determination. Her constant bantering war with Sean was ridiculously entertaining and her constant need of rescuing from impossible situation by him had me in hysterics. I felt like this book showed a lot more of Sean's character than the last one; his kindness towards Amy and willingness to he... morelp despite her snarky and stubborn attitude had me liking his character a lot more than I did in the first book. The story was fun and entertaining but unlike the first book I never felt like it was a bit slow in places. I was snagged in the story right away and ended up reading it all in one go. I'd recommend picking up this book and the first in the series if you're looking for some well-written contemporary romance that is pretty light and easy to read.
review 2: I loved, loved, loved Sean in the first book of this series. He just didn't do it for me with Amy. She was a tad to bitchy and high-maintainence for the type of girl Sean would seem to go for. I mean compared to Tess who he made a go for in book one, Amy didn't seem like his type. I don't know, it wasn't a bad book, but I thought Sean's shine simmered a bit and Amy wasn't his best match. Not a bad book, just a bit of disappointment from the first. less
