review 1: I had the pleasure of reading Reaper's Rhythm. It is a great fast paced book that keeps you needing to read more to find out what happens. The plotline is different and interesting and makes you wonder where the author is going to take the next chapter. The characters have depth and you can definitely feel as if you can understand what they are feeling. There are plenty of twists and turns in the book and many times I found myself bouncing between ideas and who was responsible for actions that were going on. Clare has produced a fantastic read that keeps you entertained and guessing and has a good finish to the book. I await more of this series as I am intrigued where the author will go next.
review 2: This book was quite amazing to say the least. Clare Davidso... moren paints a wonderful picture from the first page to the last, complete with suspense that keeps you turning pages although it's late at night and you should really go to bed. I really don't want to include any spoilers because this is just a delicious book, but I'll tell you a few things. The originality is compelling, and who knew you could create such a mystery around a few murders and some magical music? Combine that with a well-written first person present tense, and you'll constantly feel within the story and engaged on every word. I felt like I was right there next to the characters as they confessed, mourned, and argued. I was able to feel the protagonist's grief at the loss of her sister and the heartache her family had to deal with as they tried to regain normalcy after the tragedy. I recommend this book for anybody who likes mystery, a unique theme, and a young teenage protagonist who will go to whatever lengths necessary to right the wrongs in her life. less
