review 1: This was an interesting first novel in the Hidden series. Resurrection is a city that is only accessible by paranormal's. If you have a talent or are other then you can get in.It was created by the Elves as a test city. The police force is made of were-wolves. Adam is the Alpha(Lieutenant)The watchers are Gargoyles. They devised the talent scale. They are 8's the highest known apart from the Elves.Ari is a human. She heads to Resurrection to find a mob boss who has been hurting her and her friends. She is caught in the process of beating 1 of The Eunuch's henchmen. She always knew she had a gift. Upon reaching Resurrection it increases. The Gargoyles notify the police of a rogue level 5.When Adam and Ari meet there is an instant attraction. More a primal lust. Although it t... moreakes them awhile Adam realises its the mating bond he feels with Ari.They join forces to bring down The Eunuch, who is into more than the drug pushing the police believe. He is trucking with demons and is trying to bring down 1 of the founding Elves.Lots of action, witty conversations and steamy sex. A great read.
review 2: Was interesting first in series, but lost momentum once villain was offed. Realized after that there really wasn't enough behind the main romance to keep me interested, but good mix of story and erotica up to then. Liked the mix-mash pot of inhabitants - loved the gargoyles and gnomes. Adam was adorable, Ari ... meh. The world was interesting enough to hide the lack of character depth for most of the story. Had a few giggles. less
