review 1: Wonderful continuation of Colleen's Gardella Vampire Chronicles. Bringing the Roaring Twenties of Chicago into the world of vampires and vampire hunters is a wonderful fit. This book brings in the world of jazz in the era of Prohibition in Chicago into the Gradella universe. Colleen's new protagonist is Macey. She is a woman of the modern age, working girl by night and dancing in the clubs in the evening. Macey finds out that she is a Gardella and eventually embraces her heritage of a vampire hunterThe dark underworld is a perfect fit for the universe of vampire and vampire hunter. The inclusion of the gangs of Chicago during the period of Prohibition add a twist to the politics of this world. I can't wait for the next book.
