review 1: What a great surprise this book turned out to be! Odd title and cover, but the blurb was enough to get it on audible. Narration was good and the book was a wonderful surprise. Suburban Mom stops at the grocery store to get carrots for dinner. Bank robbery gone bad leaves her with a gun shot wound to the head. Shelby soon realizes she can hear peoples thoughts. Her new "gift" gets her into trouble. Lots of twists and turns that are just so entertaining. I would say you could mash up Stephanie Plum with Sookie Stackhouse...mobsters are the monsters in this fun read. Colleen Helme is a nice find and I would snap up a book #2 in a heartbeat!
review 2: I got to 22% before the idiocy broke me down. Kindle estimated another 2 hours 20+ minutes and that's time
... more I am NOT willing to spend on this. The MC is annoying, has a very strange take on priorities and thinks that an attractive woman (albeit, I admit, very unlikeable) who's interested in her husband is a slut buuut she doesn't seem to think twice about being swoony over an officer, herself. Gah. less

A story about someone who suddenly gains the ability to read minds. I love Shelby.
