review 1: I have lost count how many times I've read these books over years. They're magnificent and so strangely enticing. Being a book worm, I love the idea of living in them, making them real with just a few whispers and changing fates with a couple of words. I like the characters and their edginess. As a child I valued Inkheart most, because it's the beginning of everything, the beginning of the characters and their lives. Now, while appreciating all three of them, Inkdeath has become dearest to me. It shows how the characters have grown and changed, it reveals even more of the world and persons one has come to love or hate in the previous books and it ties it all together.
review 2: Cornelia Funke normally gets described as an author, who writes books for teenagers.
... more So the three books about the Inkworld got classified as teenager books as well, but eventhough I've read them while beeing a teenager I would oppose, that this is ONLY a book for young people. I think everybody, who likes books, likes reading and knows how fascinating books can be, will love this triology. It's absolutely fictional, but there are nevertheless many 'facts' you can bring in your real life. I can't even count the times I'v read those books anymore, so even if you're thinking, you're possibly to old for those books, just grab them and start reading the first chapters. I'll promise you, you won't stop reading untill you've finished the last chaper of Inkdeath! less
