review 1: I absolutely loved it! This book takes a hold of you and does not let go. I could not put it down. I read it in 3 days but I could have easly in one (but I had to Work!!). It is so beautifully written. It's mysterious and dark yet so captivating and romantic. Luca is the perfect man, handsome, rich & kind. But he is convinced, he's a monster and devastatingly broken. Evangeline is smart, beautiful and emotionally broken herself. They both struggle to stay away from each other, but the chemistry between them in undeniable. You can feel their longing for each other and you can't help but fall in love right along with them. The only complaint I have is, I WISHED IT WAS LONGER. I didn't want it to end. Now I have to wait till the winter for the next one.... An absolute must ... moreread.
review 2: Well, the story is vague. The characters are flat. The sex scenes are distancy (is that a word??) and not hot at all. I just couldn't get into the story at all. I wanted to like it but I had it figured out about a quarter of the way in and then it just didn't do anything for me. In short, I didn't much like it. I always feel like I should apologize when I give a review like this because I know the author put time and effort into writing it and was probably pretty passionate about it at some point, but instead of apologizing, Ill just list some good points: The scenery/backdrop of the book is beautiful: Malta. The whole premise is promising: mystery, romance, murder... I just wish the whole thing didn't fall so flat... less
