review 1: This is the first Longmire book I have read. I am a fan of the tv show. I enjoyed reading this book very much. Quite often I find the differences been the book and the tv or movie upsetting, at least at first. However I had no trouble accepting the books characters as being the same as the tv characters. The story is interesting and engaging. I was right on the edge of my seat the whole flight. I really must get a hold of more Longmire books.
review 2: This was one of Johnson's best "Longmire" pieces. It's only 140 pages or so, and it's really more of a novella, but it's packed with suspense, heroism, and sentimentality. I loved it.I'd tell you more, but I don't want to ruin it with spoilers. It isn't a "whodunnit". It's a rescue mission, an effort to save... more a critically injured little girl.You'll come away from this loving Lucian more than ever. If they ever make a movie out of this series, they need to cast R. Lee Ermey as Lucian. He'd be perfect. less
