review 1: Although it took me an uncharacteristically long time to finish this book, I did enjoy it. The main character, Mitch reconnects with his father only to uncover certain truths that may have been better off left unknown. In his quest for truth, Mitch vacillates between the last summer he spent with his father and the present, learning who his father truly is and what depths he would go to, to protect his son.
review 2: I got The Summer Son for my Kindle because the trial pages sounded good to me and I wanted to know what happens. ... moreput aside and I really liked when all the sercets were revealed. It's a good story about family and dark pasts but I will not go into a huge rant about the psychological aspects of the whole thing. I'm also not sure about the ending and whether or not I agree with it. But that doesn't make the writing any less good so I can recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who likes family stories with complicated background. less
