review 1: This is my first book written by Christa McHugh but it will not be my last. I eagerly anticipate buying the entire Soulbearer Trilogy. I enjoyed how the author weaved a small detail (not going to reveal spoilers) at the beginning about Trouble that leads to a whole new adventure by the end of the first book in the series; thus, pleasantly giving us a glimpse into the "trouble" the characters will face in the next installment.The writing is fluid, and detailed without seeming wordy. I know when I read a book I don't enjoy reading a three page description on the main protagonist's appearance; this book did NOT do that. Everything was seamlessly written. I also enjoyed the sexual tension Trouble faces with the two protective men in the book. I think others who enjoy a grippin... moreg beginning, an original plot with a bit of sexual tension/attraction blended in with fantasy a must-read. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I plan on seeking more books by this author.
review 2: I really enjoyed this story, the plot was good. The characters are well developed. I like both Kell and Dev, but as far as this love triangle goes I do not like Kell for Arden. I love Arden's spirit and back bone. I do have issues with her running off without thinking and her anger issues based on assumptions without knowing the facts. Loku the Chaos God that Arden is soulbearer to cracks me up at times with the things he says to Arden. I look forward to reading the next book. less
