review 1: Like the rest of the trilogy, this book is narrated by Dr. Cuthbert Soup, who like Lemony Snicket, makes an appearance in the book he's writing. There's more adventure, craziness, nonsense, and sibling bonding as the Cheeseman family continually tries to go back in time to save their mother/wife from being poisoned. It's a satisfying ending to the trilogy, with enough twists of just crazy insanity to keep it interesting.
review 2: A suitably crazy conclusion to Cuthbert Soup’s three volume, ridiculously funny time-machine adventure. It’s refreshing to find such witty (and sometimes wacky) entertainment drawn from everyday experiences of a modern family, especially one that includes an adolescent (admittedly they are a little unusual in their attempt to go... more back in time, yet the humour is usually in things we can all relate to). Word-plays, mind games and perplexing possibilities are thought up, said aloud and even lived through in this quirky conclusion that can’t but leave a smile on your face. less
