review 1: I LOVED this! I read it twice in 3 days. I read Mine to Hold and liked it alot, but this one was better in my opinion. The writing was brilliant, the plot was deep, the characters likeable...It starts off with the h, Elizabeth being held captive by a couple of hit men. The H, Saxon doing a last favor for his friend burst in to save her. Saxon has worked undercover for the FBI for years and is looking forward to no longer having to do these kind of jobs. He longs for normalcy and peace. He notices how pretty she is, but what I loved about the plot was it wasn't the insta anything. Despite his attraction, it was still all a job. As the story progressed the h was in more and more danger, and the H having had to live undercover for so long only knew how to be a hard ass. He di... moredn't know how to deal with his growing feelings for the h. He protected her with all he had, but still did it under the guise that it was his job, even after taking bullets for her and some steamy scenes. Please don't interpret this to mean he was an a-hole. He wasn't, he was just confused and wasn't the emotional, loving kind. But it was so endearing. His reactions when the h would do something nice for him made me want to hug him. He just didn't believe he deserved her.As much as I loved the H, the h stole the show for me, and that hardly ever happens. She was so selfless and loyal. She risked her life just as much for the H as he did for her, and NOT in a TSTL way. She was not a weak, emotional h. She was strong, and confident. She accepted and loved the H just as he was. One of the best h I've read.The plot was action packed. Body count adding up, bullets flying, betrayal, who dun it...I admit, that after a while, there were so many names being thrown around, I damn near wanted to take notes, but I'd much prefer an intricate plot, to a simple one. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
review 2: Saxon and Elizabeth meet under circumstances unknown .. Saxon a FBI agent that wanted out working for his brother Victor . only to find Elizabeth who needed to be rescued due to a hit on her life .. Victor and Saxon deal with crooked undercover agents two at least as to whom well you will need to read it to find out about that .. and Is Elizabeth really a good person or does she too have secrets or is the secrets not being told to her ,, and will there be a connection between Saxon and Elizabeth ... and hmm maybe a proposal and a business agreement but between whom and at what cost and can Saxon save his family and someone he loves .. to find this and more out buy , read and review and buy more books by Cynthia Eden .. this was a ARC review copy given to me and loved every page read kept me at the edge of my seat ... less
