review 1: Israeli mystery fiction is uncommon, according to our detective, Avraham Avraham. Mishani is no Batya Gur, but I enjoyed following the efforts of Avraham Avraham, a bit of a shlub, to find the missing boy. The writing is merely acceptable, the character of the detective is not riveting, and the action is rather slow until the ending(s). I gave up. Flat flat flat. Flat characters. Flat prose. Flat plot. 1 X 1 X 1 = 1.
