review 1: This is probably one of the best non-fiction books I have ever read. It gave me a lot to think about regarding how I view others and how I fit into my community. It showed me that a lot of what makes up the quality of my life is how I view and react to the world around me. This book couldn't have come at a better time in my life. I appreciate that my wife read it and the numerous conversations that this book has motivated.
review 2: Great read. In a world consumed by possessions, and importance of wealth and the thought of it bringing happines, or even attempting to find happiness from someone else we all have it wrong and need to be happy with ourselves truly. All other things are just secondary. I enjoyed reading this at a time where I was in search of myself
... more, and the meaning of life. I particularly enjoyed it because it did not necessarily push Buddhism or any religion onto me but just stuck to the subject " happiness" . Also taught me a great deal of how to treat others despite the way they might be treating me, for you never know what others are going through. Great read. less

of course you can't lose with the dalai lama, but the commentary can be a little drawn out at times.
