review 1: Wowza. This book was so different from the first! Not in a bad way, just... Really different. The sci-fi of it all became a little convoluted at times, to be honest, but I decided to stick with it and see how it went and... It was good. Like... Yeah! Good! It's not the best thing I've ever read, but I like the author's writing style and the way he portrays the heroine, Miranda. And I especially appreciate the fact that Mr Krokos let his imagination roam free, utterly and completely, because how else could you come up with this stuff? I liked it. It was a no-holds barred, absolutely crazy story, but written in a believable way. On to the next one, I say! :-)
review 2: 2.5 stars... If the first book was a slow dive into a sci-fi world, this book was a double back
... more flip with too much power that slams you on your face... other than some characters, everything is different, new multi-world building is constantly happening, and the story takes a turn for the way bizarre. don't expect a sequel to the first book... this novel could truly be read as a standalone. I'll definitely read the last one, because of this ending, but I wouldn't have read the second one if I knew it was anything like this! less
