review 1: Dan Walsh and Gary Smalley teamed up to begin this first novel of the Restoration Series. It’s about Marilyn, who after years of marriage leaves the marriage, church, and friends. It’s beautifully written and really touches the area of what a breakup can do to those you love, are friends with, & even those you worship with. It really shows how God can make amazing changes in you, and that life is a journey. I enjoyed this very much, as it was easy to get involved with the characters.
review 2: I am a huge fan of Dan Walsh's writing, and was so pleased to learn that he had a new book coming out, and was delightfully surprised that he had teamed up with author Gary Smalley to create a new series that look at family relationships and marital relationships. "Th... moree Dance" is the first book in Dan and Gary's "The Restoration Series," and it is a beautifully written story of one couple's tragic seperation and their journey back to each other. I loved how ballroom dancing plays such a huge part of the characters Marilyn and Jim's reconnection - I'm a big fan of "Dancing With The Stars" and thought this inclusion was fun, as well as very meaningful in this couple's relationship. The authors also employ a gentle look at how the couple's faith and their spiritual journey also plays such an important role in their lives. I enjoyed getting to know the Anderson family, the main characters in this series, and look forward to future stories to come. And I surprised myself by shedding a few tears of joy at the conclusion of this emotional and powerful story. I highly recommend "The Dance" for anyone who enjoys a well-written contemporary faith-filled story. less
