review 1: I love Adventure Time so much. Cute spin off series are awesome. This one sometimes got overly girly, compared to the show and the other set of comics. You could tell it was written by a woman. It wasn't bad. You could just tell it was geared to girls. I like Adventure Time because it's a boy story with little hints of emotion and feelings. This was the other way around, and I'm not sure if I'm okay with that.
review 2: As a fan of both Adventure Time and Girls With Slingshots, I was really looking forward to reading this. It's a surprisingly quick read for how big the book is, and I thought it read quite similarly to the 10-minute TV episodes. The adventure is quick, but Flame Princess still deals with a surprisingly large amount of development as a character ... moreand I thought the ending to their tale was incredibly satisfying. The BMO story at the end was also a surprise, and quite cute. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't in color, particularly when the cover art was so beautiful. And my only other complaint is that the story is so sweet, but if you've watched the show, well... you know what happens in the long run. It's kind of a bummer. But overall, if you like Adventure Time, Danielle Corsetto really does it justice and I'll be looking forward to the next one. less
