review 1: One of the sweetest books I have ever read. It was loaned to me by a friend. It says the age range is for 3rd to 6th graders, and I agree that probably no one under 8ish should read it, but I think the age range should be 8-100 because although it may seem a bit cheesy to some older kids/adults, it is very sweet and the sorrow is sad enough that it is actually sad but it will probably not leave you crying. I definitely recommend.
review 2: Blurb: Every Christmas season in the small town of Pine River, a tree appears in the town square - the Angel Tree. Some people tie wishes to the tree, while others make those wishes come true. Nobody's ever known where the tree comes from, but the mystery has always been part of the tradition's charm. This year, Lucy knows
... morejust what her wish is. Valentine, her Seeing Eye dog, is terribly sick, and her family can't afford the treatment that could save her life. Max knows his wish is too big: His family needs a new home, after theirs burned down in a fire. But he's going to tie it to the tree anyway...Meanwhile, Joe's new to Pine River, and he definitely doesn't fit in - he's not sure he even deserves to put up a wish.Cami's also got a lot riding on the tree, but it's not a wish. She's determined to figure out who is responsible for the tradition. Together with Lucy, Max, and Joe, she wants to solve the mystery so that Pine River can finally thank the person who brought the Angel Tree to their town. This is a heartwarming Christmas mystery, full of friendship, discovery, and loads of holiday cheer!Personal Thoughts: This was such a wonderful Christmas story. I absolutely loved it. The characters were so lovable and you really felt for their situations. It was a great novel that brought forth the true meaning of Christmas! There were happy tears at the end. :) less
