review 1: I decided to read this book because my daughter raved about The Cirque Du Freak series so much that I put it to the top of my pile. The story is unlike anything I've read lately and manages to merge crime and mystery with the supernatural. The characters are superb, I couldn't decide if I liked Ed and wanted everything to end well for him or for him to get his comeuppance. The plot has so many unexpected twists that the chapters fly by - at some points I found it impossible to put down, desperate to find out what happens next. I found the ending slightly flawed but I enjoyed the book as a whole so much that it didn't bother me too much.Turns out my daughter has good taste when it comes to authors!
