review 1: I think super diaper baby 2 is an aweso,e book.It has flips or Rama, jokes and...PEE!!!It is about this baby who fell into captain underpants super juice and got all the powers captain underpants got.The pee monster is created by a water machine that a mad scientists cat turned him in to.Then, the cat drank him and pee him out.Thats how the pee monster is created. He turned big because he stole all the toilets and the people has to pee in the empty pool.LOL!!!
review 2: In the sequel to Pilkey’s 2002 "The Adventure of Super Diaper Baby," George Beard and Harold Hutchins begin by telling the back story of how their newest comic book came to fruition. This leads into the story of Super Diaper Baby (a.k.a. Billy Hoskins) and his sidekick, Diaper Dog, and how they
... moredefeat the “evil genius/inventor/bank robber,” Dr. Dilbert Dinkle. Throughout the story, Pilkey’s trademark potty humor shines through as Dr. Dinkle plans to use his newest invention to rob banks and become rich beyond his wildest dreams. But Dinkle is turned into an angry puddle of urine when his evil cat, Petey, leans on the lever of the Liquidater 2000. Using the framework of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the rest of the story plays out as Dinkle, whose urine soaked money is refused by the local retailers, goes on a rampage of revenge stealing all the town’s toilets. It’s up to Super Diaper Baby and Diaper Dog to not only save the day, but in another subplot, rebuild the self-esteem of Mr. Hoskins, Billy’s dad.The comic book elements, simplistic black and white drawings that look so kid-like, and the ever popular Flip-o-Ramas keep the book fun, entertaining and interactive. Surely hundreds, or maybe thousands, of readers have created their own comic thanks to the simplicity of Pilkey’s creation. That, in and of itself, is reason to cheer. To think that Pilkey has milked these stories and the sometimes raunchy bathroom humor for nearly 17 years and maintains a growing legion of fans numbering into the millions is mind blowing. To his credit, he has cornered the market on quality jokes involving every sort of bodily function as well as built a rabid readership among young boys (and girls!) who are often easily bored with traditional kid lit fare. While some parents and educators may twitch at the thought of the numerous misspellings and grammatical errors, one need look no farther than Barbara Park’s June B. Jones series to reinforce that kids love to read about the silly, riotous, and usually immature, exploits of kids like themselves. He even throws in some jokes for the occasional adult readers/reviewers such as his reference to Bo Donaldson and the Heywood’s 1974 hit song, “Billy Don’t Be a Hero!” :-D less
