review 1: Fans of the series will relish this follow-up to episode 9. There is lots of time travel, zapping, and chasing between Tippy Tinkletrousers and the good guys (George, Harold and Captain Underpants). In order to save the Earth, the characters travel back to prehistoric eras. In short order, they cause the extinction of the dinosaurs and the start of the Ice Age; they teach cavemen how to create cave drawings; they send Tippy all the way back to the Big Bang, although here it is called the Big Ka-Bloosh. Even scarier is their peek into the future: George and Harold become teachers, like the very ones they poke fun at! The book contains lots of scatological humor, comics, and flip page animations. There is even a song (offensive lyrics and music provided) that will elicit la... moreughs. The familiar cartoon illustrations and promise of more adventures to come are sure to delight intermediate readers, especially the boys.
review 2: This series just keeps getting better and better, and while much of the humor isn't really my cup of tea, it's impossible not to be amused by the adventures of George and Harold, not to mention Captain Underpants and the many versions of Tippy Tinkletrousers. Readers will surely hoot in glee at the various iterations of this villain as they peek out from his unzipped pants. The focus of this volume is a revisionist history behind the Ice Age, the extinction of the dinosaurs, and other bits concerning early humans. Middle grade readers will especially enjoy the Flip-O-Rama that allows them to animate a few pages' worth of drawings. Even the chapter titles are witty; for instance, "Have an Ice Day!" (p. 158). less

This should've been the end of the series, but it's being milked for more books.
