review 1: Definitely the best book of the series. Good progression of character development and further world building. Action packed to say the least. I was disappointed in some characters but I guess you can't have your way all the time. Definitely a must read if you started the series. Only complaint is that I find it some what ridiculous that there are so many fights due to lack of communication. Really all it would take is one person saying, "hey buddy chill out, I didn't kill that person why don't we sit down and chat over a beer?". Just saying. The book would probably be a lot shorter though. Also those shoes that were introduced early were pointless...
review 2: As far as the end of a trilogy this book was disappointing. There was some great character development
... more, the new setting and enlargement of the world was delightful. I enjoyed the plot and again he did well creating a fun adventure with multiple plot lines meeting in an exciting and even unexpected ending. I guess I will have to read the half-orc series now in order to find out where the 'Watcher' ends up. less

More interesting, but still pretty lightweight. Finally some elves show up. :)

What this book lacks in plot it makes up for in blood-soaked vengeance.
