review 1: What a great book!! It's well written and well thought out, has excitement, thrills, action, and even sensitive moments that brought tears to my eyes. The characters come to life in the telling and I came to care about many of them but especially Jill. There were parts of the story that horrified me. The very end of it made me cheer. So many emotions elicited; what more can you ask from a novel? I loved it. I'll have to read the other books in the series so I can see how it all comes out. Thank you, David, for allowing me to read it and The Eden Plague in exchange for honest reviews. P.S. I stayed up all night until I finished it because I couldn't put it down.
review 2: An excellent addition to the series. Time frame is between lst and 2nd book in th... moree series but while the information in the first two books is 'helpful' this can be read as a stand-alone, as it deals with the story of just one of the cast of main characters in the series.Jill happens to be one of my favorite characters from the series anyway, so enjoyed this book very much. Quick, easy read and entertaining. Would actually like to see more books like this that chronicle the background story of the main characters. less
