review 1: This is one of those terrorist thrillers you hope is only fiction. The false trails set that the intelligence agencies followed were very well done. Our little troop of heroes are varied, interesting and real. I do not usually read Christian fiction, but this book included the Christian beliefs of the characters as part of them and not as propaganda. The story could have come out of international headlines, and is consistent with current geopolitical reality. Read it for the thrills, read it for the journey of the several personalities within, read it for the rapid ride it will give you.
review 2: When I first picked up this book I was leary, having not realized it had religious/faith-based undertones. This isn't something that I ever seek when browsing a book
... more store, but by the second chapter Bunn had me hooked with off-the-books operative Marc Royce. All the international intrigue, espionage and intelligence gathering, and the interwoven connection between the different characters (which the storyline shifts to quite frequently) had me wondering what was going to happen in this action adventure. The political and international tones of the book kept me intrigued and the relationship between Marc and Kitra was a nice sideline. Frankly, I was surprised to enjoy the book as much as I did, and I'm glad to have received it as part of the first reads program. less
